Meet Dr. Steven Gilbertson
Orthodontist
Dr. Steven Gilbertson has been practicing orthodontics in Santa Clarita since 1984.
“In the thirty years I have practiced in Santa Clarita, I have watched the area retain its small-town feel despite its explosive growth. We are blessed to enjoy such a tight-knit community in an always evolving area,” Dr. Gilbertson says.
Dr. Gilbertson earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at San Diego State University. He then went to dental school at Northwestern University. He graduated with honors as an Omicron Kappa Epsilon dental society member and his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Afterward, he received specialty training at the University of California, Los Angeles, and graduated with a Certificate in Orthodontics.
Dr. Gilbertson is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, the California Dental Association, and the San Fernando Dental Society.
Outside of his time practicing orthodontics, he enjoys racquetball, snow skiing, and vintage cars. Dr. Gilbertson and his wife, Michelle, have a son, Paul. They are active in their church and enjoy serving on mission trips together.
Meet Dr. Megan LeCornu
Board Certified Orthodontist
Although Dr. Megan LeCornu has lived in many cities, she feels like Santa Clarita has always been home.
“Santa Clarita is such a family-friendly city, and I love the variety of outdoor activities and how involved everyone is in their community,” she says.
Dr. LeCornu knew that she wanted to positively impact people’s quality of life from a young age. Her positive experience with her own orthodontic treatment when she was a teenager, propelled her towards orthodontics as a career. She enjoyed the increased confidence that she gained after her orthodontic treatment transformed her life, and she felt strongly that she wanted to offer the same life-changing care to people one day.
A Colorado native, Dr. LeCornu attended the University of Denver. While there, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry while minoring in Psychology. She then went on to the prestigious Harvard School of Dentistry, where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Afterward, she was accepted into one of the top orthodontic programs in the country, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she completed a three-year orthodontic residency and graduated with her Master’s in Orthodontics.
After practicing orthodontics for a time in California, Dr. LeCornu met Dr. Steven Gilbertson of Santa Clarita, CA. Dr. Gilbertson was ready to take on a partner, and she has been practicing with him since May 2014. A Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, Dr. LeCornu is one of only 25% of orthodontists in the nation to be board-certified. Dr. LeCornu is one of only six-board certified orthodontists in the Santa Clarita Valley and the only female board-certified orthodontist in the area.
Dr. LeCornu is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, the California Dental Association, and the San Fernando Dental Society. She has multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals, and she lectures and presents cases to students and at continuing education meetings. In addition to spending time with her family and friends, Dr. Megan loves the outdoors and enjoys living in sunny California, where she can enjoy the outdoors all year! In her free time, you can find her snowboarding at Mammoth Mountain in the winter, going to the beaches, and paddle boarding in the summer. She loves camping and is always up for a new adventure. She is always looking for travel tips from her patients! Dr. Megan has 2 dogs, a golden retriever named Winnie and a golden-shepherd mix named Teddy. You may find her on the hiking trails with her dogs on our local trails!
Meet Dr. Peter Weber
Board Certified Orthodontist
Dr. Peter Weber is proud to call Santa Clarita home. He, his wife, and their three children love being part of the SCV community!
Dr. Weber attended the University of Florida and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. He also attended the University of Florida College of Dentistry, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and received multiple awards, including recognition from the American Association of Orthodontists. He then completed a three-year residency in orthodontics and earned a Master of Science in Orthodontics at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, one of the most respected orthodontic programs in the world. At UNC, he was honored to be the recipient of the Dr. D. Gregory Brooks and Andrew M. Brooks Fellowship. He and Dr. LeCornu met at UNC, where they realized they shared patient-centered values and the same drive for clinical excellence. They are excited to collaborate with Dr. Gilbertson to benefit their patients.
Dr. Weber is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, which is the only orthodontic specialty board recognized by the American Dental Association. He was invited to display his board exam patient results at the American Association of Orthodontists annual meeting – an honor offered to only 6% of the hundreds of orthodontists who took the exam with him. Dr. Weber is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, and the California Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Weber cherishes his time with his wife, children, and dogs. He and his wife are very involved in their kids’ school, athletics, arts, and musical activities and enjoy being active in the community. They love spending time around kids and positively impacting their lives. In his free time, Dr. Weber likes to play sports and loves to follow the University of Florida Gator athletics!
